Homework:

1/30: We have finished acting, discussing and watching Act 1 of Macbeth in class, which means there will be a quiz on Wednesday 2/1. You are allowed to use the book, but be prepared to remember details, names, events and quotes by characters.

1/18: Graded Rough Drafts will be returned on Friday. Final Drafts for the LIt Analysis are due on Monday, 1/23

1/9: Rough Draft for Dracula litarary analysis due Monday 1/18, Vocab final for Dracula Monday 1/18

1/6: Write the intro to your Dracula litarary analysis for Monday 1/11

12/16: Finish "Dracula" for the end of break (Wednesday, 1/4)

12/12: read through chapter 22 of "Dracula" for Wednesday 12/14

12/7: Read through chapter 20 of "Dracula" forMonday 12/11, Outline and thesis statement for "Dracula" Literary Analysis due Monday 12/11

11/7: Do the vocab and read chapter 6 of "Dracula" for Wednesday 11/9

10/26: Monster Presentations are now due on Wednesday 11/2. Read chapter 5 of "Dracula" and bring in a source ready to cite for next class, Monday, 10/31. Remember CITATIONMACHINE.NET!!!!

10/24: Read through chapter 3 of "Dracula" for Wednesday 10/26. Monster presentations (see above) are due on Monday 10/31. Bring in 1 source for this project (book, website, etc.) to use in class on Wednesday 10/26

10/5: ALCHEMIST PROJECTS DUE NEXT CLASS, FRIDAY 10/7

10/3: For Wednesday, 10/5, bring your completed list of vocab (3rd set, see above), along with anything you'd like to work on for your Alchemist Media Projects. You will be given most of the period on Wednesday to work on these, check them with me, so take advantage of this time!

9/23: I will not be with you in class again until Monday, 10/3. For that date, you should have four things ready: 1-complete a list of definitions for the next set of vocabulary words for "The Alchemist". 2-Finish reading "The Alchemist". 3-Complete the worksheet for the movie you will watch while I am on the Senior Retreat. 4-Keep working on your Media Projects for "The Alchemist". Projects are due on Friday, 10/7; IT'S COMING UP!

9/21: Read through (approximately) p. 113 of "The Alchemist" for Friday, 9/23. The last line for the assignment should read "become the counselor of the oasis" and ends with a star mark to indicate the end of the section. REMEMBER THAT MEDIA PROJECTS ARE DUE FRIDAY 10/7

9/19: Be sure that you are caught up with reading of "The Alchemist". Otherwise, use this time to start preparing/working on your "Alchemist" projects (see above).

9/14: Read through (approximately) p. 87 of "The Alchemist" for Monday, 9/19. The last line for the assignment should read "forgetting the language of the world" and ends with a star mark to indicate the end of a section.

9/12: Define the first list of the vocabulary terms for "The Alchemist" (see above). Due on paper on Wednesday, 9/14

9/9: Be sure to hold on to the symbolism sheet we did in class today. If you have yours, great, if you are stuck with someone elses, please take care of it. For Wednesday 9/14, read to approximately p. 63 ("...as though he could conquer the world.")

9/7: Read through (approximately) p. 32 of "The Alchemist". The last line for the assignment should read "Then, taking his sheep, he walked away." This should be read for Friday, 9/9

8/31: Read through (approximately) p. 20 of "The Alchemist". The last line for the assignment should read "and he read things he had never told anyone". This should be read for Wednesday, 9/7. Also, for Wednesday, 9/7jot down some notes or be ready to discuss in detail a dream that you have this week before the next class (if you can't remember a dream this week, use a dream you do remember. If you don't remember your dreams, ask for the dream of a friend or family member)

8/29: You should have gotten your copy of "The Alchemist" in class today. Be sure to bring it to class on Wednesday 8/31, be sure you are ready to work on your group stories/hero journeys on Wednesday 8/31

8/26: For Monday, 8/29, bring in some visual example (a picture, a doll, etc.) of one of your favorite heroes, and be prepared to discuss say which hero archetype this hero exemplifies and give a brief outline of how this hero goes on the hero's journey

8/22: Signed syllabus due in class Wednesday 8/24, composition notebook (English 9 Journal) due in class Wednesday 8/24
