Greetings! We welcome this opportunity to share the good news about the Flagstaff Arts and Leadership Academy with you. FALA welcomes your questions and invites you to become acquainted with our educational community and its outstanding students and faculty.

Who is FALA?

FALA is a college preparatory, performing and visual arts school. We're a public charter middle and high school whose students continuously excel both academically and artistically. FALA graduates go on to pursue higher education at some of our country's most prestigious colleges and universities.

FALA's teachers are highly qualified professionals with a passion for teaching. Their credentials, commitment, and experience are all put to work to benefit FALA's students and ensure that each student is afforded every opportunity to succeed.

Passion, commitment, and excellence are three words that describe the academic and artistic learning environment at FALA. Each member of the FALA community-teachers, administration, Governing Board, parents, and students-upholds these values and all groups work together to make FALA an exceptional school.

Volunteer with the FALA Community

FALA is blessed with a wealth of human talent and creativity and we want to put your energy to use in order to get some good work done around our campus. Your participation as a volunteer not only helps us to accomplish much-needed tasks, your efforts also help us to strengthen the community of FALA. Your ideas are always welcome and in the meantime, here are some ways that you can help:

• Projects at your students' grade level
• Help us raise money for our new campus
• Helping us to reach out to artists and educators throughout our community-connect us with resources to enrich our programs
• Create a speakers bureau that can speak publicly about the excellence of FALA's programs-help us recruit students and obtain donations from the community

FALA as Part of the Community

FALA is a strong and eager partner with the community of Flagstaff and beyond. Our emphasis on Leadership through Service Learning affords students many opportunities to put their academic knowledge to work for the benefit of the community around them. If you volunteer or work for a community organization that you think would be a good partner for our students involved in Service Learning, please contact us. We'd love to talk to you.

FALA Receiving Accolades for Excellence

One of my primary goals is to raise FALA's profile and communicate the academic excellence and outstanding creative endeavors of FALA's students and faculty. Those of you already in the FALA community are well aware of the academic and artistic rigor of FALA's courses and the accomplishments of our graduates. FALA is something special-a college prep school that prepares its students academically and artistically, but also prepares students to be leaders in their communities.

Thank you for all of your support, suggestions, and enthusiasm. I'm excited for the year ahead and look forward to working with students, parents, and faculty to make FALA the absolute best that it can be.
