Philosophy of Education
I approach teaching with enthusiasm, organization, creativity, and respect for my students. I believe that students are capable of extraordinary things. The human mind has a greater capacity than any computer hard drive. As a teacher, it is my responsibility to provide a safe learning environment and opportunities for all my students to succeed. I strive for a classroom where students are in charge of their own learning.
My favorite theme to incorporate into teaching is awareness of the local environment. I will work to make the learning in any class I teach regionalized and pertinent to where students live. This is the first step in involving students with their environment and fostering responsibility. I will work to create effective citizens and community members.
On this note, community involvement is essential in fostering young scientists. If you or someone you know might be interested in working with or presenting to a science class, please let me know.
