Emily Siller

String Ensemble

Teacher Bio

Emily Siller is an accomplished performer and instructor.
She received her Bachelors of Music degree in Music Education from Northern Arizona University in 2008.

Since receiving her Bachelors, Mrs. Siller has lived and worked in Flagstaff, Arizona, helping to bring music to the community. She has performed with the Flagstaff Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra Northern Arizona, and the Flagstaff Light Opera Company. She has performed in the down town Friday Night Art Walks and at many private events. Additionally, she teaches strings at Flagstaff High School and at Flagstaff Arts and Leadership Academy. Furthermore, Mrs. Siller has started her own music studio consisting of cello, violins and pianos which put on monthly performances.

Mrs. Siller is the cellist of the Slugs from Space quartet out of Flagstaff, which performs Monday nights in down town Flagstaff at Uptown Billiards. She also plays with the Flagstaff Symphony Orchestra Quartets that have performed in such events as the Colton House Dinner, and Museum of Northern Arizona weddings.

Mrs. Siller enjoys teaching and maintains an active studio. Instructing cellists, pianists and violinists of all ages and abilities, her students have distinguished themselves in state and regional competitions and orchestras, and in school and scholarship auditions. Mrs. Siller has conducted master classes and coached various ensembles, and she is sought after as a strings instructor. While in Flagstaff, she has instructed orchestras at Flagstaff High School, Sechrist Middle School, Sinagua High School and Orchestra Northern Arizona. Mrs. Siller has instructed sectionals with Flagstaff Middle School, Montessori Charter School of Flagstaff and has participated in the Suzuki Violin Program through Marshall Elementary Magnet school which taught violin to kindergarten students up to second grade.

Breaking out of the “classical mold,” Mrs. Siller has played Metallica with a cello string quartet, Led Zeplin and other heavy rock arrangements with her Slugs from Space string quartet and has dabbled in Jazz cello.
