3/27 Classwork: We discussed major themes and the tone of the play. We began blocking the play.

Homework: Choose your favorite speech of the play -- this can be yours or someone else's. 1. The speech must be at least six lines 2. Translate the speech into everyday language 3. Explain why the speech is important to the play and why you like it. 3. Be prepared to share in class on Friday.

2/21 Classwork: Students began to analyze Shakespeare's language. Students read sonnet 18 and 24, and wrote a sonnet. They also used Shakespeare's language to create insults.

12/6 Classwork: Students took their vocabulary test and were introduced to the acting theories of Sanford Misener. We performed a few of his exercises in class, including looking and repetition.

11/29 Classwork: Students rehearsed their scenes using Stanislovsky's method.

Homework: You must be off book, and have props and costumes for Thursday.

11/15 Classwork: Students were introduced to The Method, Stanislovsky and the Moscow Art Theater. We defined key words and students were assigned scenes.

11/10 Classwork: Students performed their assessment for mask unit and recieved a grade for their work based on this rubric. We briefly introduced The Method and Stanislavski.

10/25 Classwork: Students performed three person Movement improv, where they were required to use Soft Focus. We began discussing the concept of neutrality while using a neutral mask.

Homework; Students are to bring in a skill to perform for the class that they have mastered. Students must bring in all required props for their skill.
