Import Snow Day/Delayed Start Info:

If FALA calls a snow day, this website will be updated by 7:00AM. Make sure to refresh your browser to make sure you're reading the latest information.

Here's a link to the newsletter sent to parents. This information was also mailed home.

FALA determines when to call a snow day independent of FUSD. We base our decision on the weather forecast given by the National Weather Service, road conditions, and snow removal efforts on our campus.

If FALA has not called a snow day, but roads in your neighborhood remain uncleared, we ask you to take your student's safety into consideration when determining whether he/she can safely travel to school.

For delayed start information, see our website.

Box City
Fri, Sept 26 to Sat, Sept 27

An overnight event for students from FALA is planned to help increase their awareness of poverty and homelessness in the Flagstaff community and raise money for two local organizations that support the local homeless population.

The event starts at 5:00 p.m. and ends at 9:00 a.m. the following morning. Chaperones will be on duty throughout the night. Additional parent volunteers are needed. Please contact Mr. Woodruff to volunteer.

Students participating in “Box City” will be handed a description of their fictional life circumstance that necessitates their stay in a homeless shelter or—depending upon their given circumstance—sleeping in a cardboard box on the school’s campus.

Students are raising money for the Flagstaff Family Food Center & Catholic Charities of Coconino County. Students can get permission slips and pledge forms from Mr. Woodruff.

FALA engages in reflection on our practices and analysis of our outcomes so that we can make change to improve the educational experience of all students. To that end, the FALA Council has focused on developing and implementing a continuous improvement plan with input from parents, students, faculty and staff. After gathering input this fall, the FALA Council is pleased to present our updated plan. Our Continuous Improvement Plan was first created in the spring of 2012 and we are making significant progress toward reaching our goals.
