Terminology
FALA Excused: Absences or tardiness due to illness or medical appointments, family emergencies, bereavement, observance of religious holidays, adverse weather conditions, or absences pre-approved by petition
Excused: Absences or tardiness excused by either a note or phone call from a parent/guardian
Unexcused: Unapproved or unexplained absences or tardiness
Student and Parent Notification of Absences and Tardies
Notification regarding excessive absences and tardies will be provided to students in the middle of 2nd and 4th quarter (for 1st and 2nd semester, respectively) and sent home to parents/guardians with the 2nd and 4th quarter progress reports. Appropriate documentation and petitions must be received at least two weeks before the end of the semester. |
